Suryakumar Yadav, the new backbone of Team India’s middle-order was at his very best in the final T20I against West Indies. He recorded his T20I career highest score at the Eden Gardens smashing 65 runs off 31 balls with the help of one boundary and seven sixes. He managed his 4th T20I fifty with the bat and celebrated in a unique fashion that received lots of praise from cricket fans.

Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat when India was struggling at a score of 66 runs for a loss of three wickets. Soon, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was also dismissed on a team score of 93 runs and responsibility came down on the shoulders of Suryakumar Yadav as well as Venkatesh Iyer to help India put a respectable total on the scoreboard.

The Mumbai-born batsman was in no mood to play with a defensive approach although India had lost four wickets very early. He started smashing visitor bowlers in every region of the park and stitched a match-winning partnership of 91 runs with Venkatesh Iyer (35 runs off 19 balls).

During the swashbuckling knocks, SKY reached his fifty in style. The right-handed batsman smashed West Indies pacer over the covers for a six and recorded his 4th T20I half-century. And, he celebrated his fifty with ” Namaste” Celebration pointing someone in the dugout.

Coming onto the match, India won the final T20I against West Indies by 17 runs. Harshal Patel finished as the leading wicket-taker in the match and he dismissed 3 batsmen in his four-over spell. Post-match, Suryakumar Yadav got Man of The Match for his quick knock. Meanwhile, he also received the Man of the Series award for scoring 104 runs in 3 T20Is with an average of 52.00.
