“We Lost Because Of Siraj”: Twitterati Fumes At Mohammad Siraj For Wasting 6 Deliveries In The 48th Over Of India’s Batting

Date:

It was yet another heart-in-the-mouth game in this Bangladesh vs India series. Bangladesh pulled off another heist against a top-ranked Indian side as Mehidy Hasan Miraz stole the limelight with his stupendous century. However, in the second innings, things didn’t go right for India. And at the end of the day, Mohammad Siraj eventually forced himself into the line of fire.

With 40 runs needed off 18 balls, it was a herculean task for Team India as 8 wickets had fallen down. But India had their skipper Rohit Sharma at the other end. Sharma had a broken thumb but still came out to bat to bail India out of a potential loss. Siraj was facing Mustafizur Rahman in the 48th over.

‘Fizz’ as he is popularly known as weaved magic with his slower deliveries and cutters and made Siraj huff and puff with every single ball. It was absolute doomsday for the young bowler of India as he failed to get a single run in the over. The match essentially was beyond India’s control from there on.

Siraj was visibly disappointed with himself as he failed during a crunch moment. But that doesn’t take credit away from Mustafizur Rahman who executed his deliveries with pin-point accuracy and control. He dug a grave for Team India and pushed Mohammad Siraj into it.

The fans of the Indian cricket team were understandably disappointed and frustrated. They lashed out at Mohammad Siraj on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter. They pushed the entire blame on the young bowler.

Bangladesh now has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series against the Blues. The 3rd ODI which is essentially a dead rubber will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. It will be played on 10th December, 2022. It is slated to begin from 11:30 AM (IST).
