Manish Pandey is a middle-order batsman that is known for aggressive batting and a capable fielder. Even though he comes from Uttaranchal, he is known for his role that he plays in the Domestic Season for Karnataka. While playing for Karnataka, he has represented the state under the U-19 and U-17 levels. He has also featured for India U-19 in the 2008 World Cup Malaysia. When he was rising in the ranks in Cricket, his half-sweep and half flick shot towards midwicket were discussed topics in junior Cricket.

He was a part of the Mumbai Team in the inaugural edition of the IPL. However, he emerged as a national sensation when he hit the first century of the IPL in 2009 while representing RCB. The following Ranji season also saw him being the top scorer in the tournament as he scored at an average of 63 and accumulated 882 runs. He played a big role in helping his Team reach the Ranji Trophy Final. He was RCB’s opening batsman in the 2009 IPL. The next season saw him being banned for 4 games and he opted to represent Pune. But after Pune got defunct from IPL, he was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014.
