Sri Lankan national team: Sanath Jayasuriya made his ODI debut for the Sri Lankan national team in 1989 vs Australia. After a couple of years, he would make his test debut vs Sri Lanka.
Since then the Sri Lankan stalwart has had one of the best careers in cricketing history. Jayasuriya was a key player in Sri Lanka’s 1996 ICC World Cup campaign. The all-rounder was adjudged the “man of the tournament” as the island nation won their first World Cup title!
