Pakistan

Pakistan will face Australia again in the 2nd Test of the three test match series. National Stadium in Karachi will host this fixture on Saturday, March 12. The opening Test in Rawalpindi ended in a draw, and the nature of the pitch drew a lot of criticism. The flat nature of the pitch at Rawalpindi resulted in a belter for batters and taking the advantage away from the pacers.

The first innings from Pakistan were declared after a mammoth score of 476 with the loss of just four wickets. Azhar Ali high scored 185 while Imam-ul-Haq added 157. Similar was the case in the 2nd innings as Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq remained unbeaten for a 252 Run partnership, to draw the match for Pakistan.

Nauman Ali was exceptional with his bowling and bagged 6 wickets in Australia’s 2nd inning. Shaheen Shah Afridi also bagged two scalps.

Australia

For Australia, Usman Khawaja high-scored 97. David Warner (68), Marnus Labuschagne (90), and Steven Smith (68) also found their way of scoring on a flat surface. However, some Australian batters found it tough to tackle Pakistan’s spin attack even on a good pitch to bat on.

The visitors had some troubles in the fast-bowling department. While Pat Cummins picked up one wicket, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Star returned wicketless from the Rawalpindi Test. Mitchell Swepson is set to make his Test debut and will join Nathan Lyon in the spin attack.

Australian batters are in pretty good form, although none of them scored centuries on a batting paradise. The pacers would be hoping for some assistance from the Karachi pitch.

Pitch Report

The pitch in Karachi has generally been an excellent one for batting. But the track is also known for helping spinners as the game progresses. We can expect a more sporting pitch after criticism in the first test. As the numbers suggest bowling first after winning the toss should be the preferred option for both teams.

PAK vs AUS, Who will win the match, Today Match Prediction

Pakistan to win.

Pakistan has generally been dominant at home in Test cricket. Their spinners and pacers have dictated terms over the years. Although the first Test ended in a draw, Pakistan may have the upper hand in the second Test.

On the other hand, Australian Batters struggled a bit in front of spinners. If the Karachi pitch remains a sporting one then we can expect the Aussie bowlers to dominate over Pakistan.

Popular Betting Odds For PAK vs AUS, 2nd Test, Today Match Prediction, Cricket Betting Tips

Top Batsman for Pakistan- Imam-ul-Haq

The top-order batsman is in the form of his life in red-ball cricket. Abid Ali remained the top scorer in the last test where he amassed 268 Runs combined. His two back-to-back centuries helped Pakistan to draw the match. The 26-year-old had amassed 753 runs in 12 Tests at an average of 37.65.

Top Batsman for Australia- Marnus Labuchagne

Ranked as the no. 1 Test Player currently in the ICC Test Rankings, Labuchagne certainly can’t be missed due to the value he brings to the Australian side. He mustered 335 Runs in the Ashes at an average of 41. He also accounted for a 90 in the first innings of Australia.

Top Bowler for Pakistan- Nauman Ali

Nauman Ali stood out as the only bowler that troubled most of the Australian batters in the first Test. He bagged 6 wickets in the first innings of Australia while giving away 2.80 runs per over. He is expected to carry the same momentum on a pin assistive Karachi pitch.

Top Bowler for Australia- Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins has been a consistent performer for Australia with the ball. He bagged 21 Wickets in 4 Tests against England during the Ashes tour. So far the veteran has collected 185 scalps in 28 Tests with an impressive economy of 2.76. Cummins stood out for Australia bagging the only wicket in Pakistan’s 2nd innings as other bowlers remained wicketless. Also, the Karachi pitch might give some assistance to his pace and swing.
