The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 is set to take place from November 23 to December 15, 2024, and the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has officially announced their 17-member squad for the tournament.
Shreyas Iyer has been appointed as captain of the Mumbai squad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024. This decision comes after speculation regarding his leadership role, with Ajinkya Rahane, the current red-ball captain, playing under him.
Prithvi Shaw will be returning to the squad after being dropped from the Ranji Trophy due to fitness concerns, his explosive batting is expected to bolster the team’s top order.
Another important inclusion, Siddhesh Lad has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and will add depth to the batting lineup.
