India dismissed for 244 runs on Day-2 and Mohammad Shami was the final wicket to fall from the visitors’ side. Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins came guns blazing against Indian tailenders and not allowed them to get settled on the wicket. This is the reason why India managed to only play 5 overs on Day-2 before getting dismissed.
Australia’s pace attack was in their top-notch form in the 1st innings of the Adelaide Test. On the other hand, Indian batsmen paid price for their irresponsible strokes and miscommunication on the field. Everyone looked in a hurry and they might have forgotten that they were playing a Test match.
India Dismissed For 244 Runs, Saha Flopped To Perform With Bat
On a stable batting track where they would have easily managed 350 plus runs on the scoreboard. But they fell short due to their on-field mistakes while batting. Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane got settled and then threw wicket in the match. Meanwhile, the latter also sold down Virat Kohli’s wicket on the back of a poor call between the wickets.
Virat Kohli looked in stunning form with the bat and he had answers to every weapon of Aussie bowlers. However, his remarkable knock had a sad end. He amassed 74 runs with the willow before getting run-out. By the end of Day-1, Team India scored 233 runs for a loss of 6 wickets. All the hopes came down on the shoulders of Wrddhiman Saha and R Ashwin.
But, none of them could play two overs on the very next day. The former got out to Cummins. The latter also looked in hurry and gave an easy catch to Aussie wicketkeeper Tim Paine. Afterward, it didn’t take much time for the hosts to dismiss visitors in the game. And, India managed 244 runs on the scoreboard.
