Axar Patel is turning out to be a mystery for the England batsman. He has grabbed two wickets out of the six that fell on Day-1. After dismissing Jonny Bairstow, the homeboy sent England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes back to the pavilion without giving much damage to Team India on the opening day of the 3rd Test.

England won the toss and elected to bat. The visitors thought that the wicket will be favorable for the batsmen on Day-1. But that has not happened till now. England openers failed to get off the mark well in the 3rd Test. Dominic Sibley was sent back to the pavilion by Ishant Sharma in his 100th Test match. Later on, Axar Patel put some salt on England’s wound by dismissing Jonny Bairstow without scoring a single run in the game.

Later on, Ravi Ashwin was introduced into the attack by Indian skipper Virat Kohli. The Indian off-spinner lived up to the expectation of his captain and took in-form Joe Root wicket. In the 2nd session, he clean bowled Ollie Pope on a peach of a delivery.

England batting unit struggled from the very first ball of the game and they had to work hard for every single run. In the end, all the responsibility came down on Ben Stokes’s shoulders. But, he was also dismissed quite early in the game.

The left-arm spinner bowled a quicker one that came inside the batsmen and he was outfoxed with the invariable bounce. In the end, he was caught in front of the stumps and the on-field umpire adjudged him out.

At the moment, England has found itself stuck in a dreadful situation in the ongoing 3rd Test. They have lost their 8 wickets in the first two sessions of Day-1 at a score of 100 runs.
