Australia is currently playing the pink-ball Test against England in the 2nd Ashes. And, Jos Buttler has hogged the spotlight for taking an exceptional catch on Day-1 of the game in order to send Marcus Harris back to the pavilion at his individual score of 3 runs.
Australia suffered a big blow ahead of the 2nd Ashes Test as they lost the services of Pat Cummins, who was asked to stay in isolation for visiting a restaurant. Cricket Australia announced Steve Smith as the skipper in the absence of Pat Cummins.
Jos Buttler grabs world class catch from behind the stumps
The hosts are already leading in the Test series by 1-0. They continued with the same momentum in the 2nd Test by winning the toss. The skipper Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat and the decision did go down well with the team.
Although, Marcus Harris got out early. But, David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne partnership rescued Australia from the early setback. The star duo stitched an amazing partnership of 100 and it is still in the process.
England bowlers did well in the first few overs and put Aussie batters on the backfoot. But, they never managed to get a wicket to post Marcus Harris’s departure which was the highlight of the day.
The instance happened in the 8th over of the day when England pacer Stuart Broad bowled a brilliant short-pitched delivery to Harris. The southpaw tried hitting it for a boundary. But, he failed in getting his stroke. The ball took a thick edge and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler took an exceptional catch diving to his right.
Probably, it looked like the best catch of Jos Buttler’s career and England players were all over the ground after witnessing such an effort from their star player.
At the time of writing this report, Australia was playing at a score of 100 runs for a loss of one wicket. On the other hand, England bowlers were struggling to get a breakthrough in the game in order to manage a comeback on Day-1 in the pink-ball Test.
