IPL 2023: Predicting Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH’s) Strongest Playing XI

Date:

The winners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 edition, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are one of the most consistent sides in the league.

However, they have failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last 2 editions and they have made some wholesome changes to their sides.

Unarguably the biggest change in their squad for IPL 2023 will be the absence of former captain and most successful player of New Zealand, Kane Williamson.

Ahead of the IPL 2023 auctions, the SRH management decided to let the batter go.

SRH kick-start their IPL 2023 campaign on 2nd April 2023 against Rajasthan Royals (RR). The match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad’s skipper Aiden Markram and 2 other South African players in the form of Marco Jansen and Heinrich Klaasen will not be available for the first game as they will be having national team duties.

In this article, we take a look at Sunrisers Hyderabad’s strongest playing XI in IPL 2023:

IPL 2023: SRH Best Predicted Playing XI

Openers: Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma

The left-hand right-hand duo of Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma can prove to be quite lethal in IPL 2023.

Mayank Agarwal was bought by the SRH franchise for a whopping fee of Rs. 8.25 crores and he will be having a lot of expectations on him.

Southpaw Abhishek Sharma is a good youngster and has proven his stocks in the previous editions of the IPL.

Middle-order: Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram and Harry Brook

One of the strongest areas of Sunrisers Hyderabad is their deep middle-order.

Rahul Tripathi is unarguably one of the most improved T20 cricketers in recent times and he also made his India debut in this format recently.

Skipper Aiden Markram had a fabulous SA20 League campaign and won the title for Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC).

Hyderabad broke the bank for English batter Harry Brook in the IPL 2023 auctions and bought him for a humongous sum of Rs. 13.25 crores.

Lower-order: Washington Sundar and Heinrich Klaasen

With Washington Sundar in their side, Sunrisers Hyderabad become a very strong team.

In the past, we have seen the magic which Sundar can conjure and he will be one of the most exciting players to watch out for in the SRH team.

In the recently concluded SA20 League, Heinrich Klaasen finished as the 4th highest run getter while plying his trade for the Durban’s Super Giants team.

He mustered 363 runs in 10 games for the team.

Bowlers: Umran Malik, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Adil Rashid

Over the years, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s biggest strength has been their bowling department.

Last year’s Emerging Player Award winner Umran Malik was the biggest find of IPL 2022 and he was fast-tracked to the Indian national team as well.

With Adil Rashid, SRH’s 4 overseas players conclude as well. He has a lot of experience under his belt and will be a key weapon for SRH.
