After bowling Sri Lanka out for a paltry score of 50 in the first innings, India chased down the total with ease and comfort in just 6.1 overs, without losing a single wicket.
The defending champions Sri Lanka couldn’t defend their title as they succumbed to a humiliating and disappointing defeat at the hands of India.
Notably, this was India’s 8th Asia Cup win and they would be pretty happy and confident after their remarkable win in Colombo. A win of this stature would certainly boost up their confidence levels ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which will be taking place from the next month.
This win was also India’s biggest ODI win in terms of balls remaining. A total of 263 balls were remaining in the 2nd innings when India gunned down the total of 51 runs. Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan and opened the innings and had finished the job with perfection.
