There is absolutely no doubt that KL Rahul is one of the most talented cricketers in India, presently. His ability to single-handedly change the course of innings through his breathtaking batting has earned him a permanent spot on the team.

However off-late, KL Rahul has been struggling in the longest format of the game. Since 2020, Rahul averages a mediocre 30.28 in the 11 Tests he has played in. In ongoing India vs Australia Test series, KL Rahul hasn’t been in the best of form and has failed miserably.

Indian cricketer and commentator Dinesh Karthik has now opined as to how the star batter could come back to form.

“He is a class player and is very good in all formats. But at this point in time, I don’t think it’s the technique. I think it’s because of what happens between the ears that are really troubling him. He might need some time off from the game to go back and come back fresh for the ODIs,” said Dinesh Karthik

India has a few other options in their ranks if they need a replacement for KL. Shubman Gill is one of them and Dinesh Karthik feels the same.

“I have to go with Shubman Gill, he’s just batted beautifully. There will be just one change in the playing XI. I feel very bad for KL Rahul, I think he’s been under the scanner,” said the wicket-keeper batter.

KL Rahul has managed to muster only 1 50+ score since 2022 beginning and really needs to rack up a few runs under his belt.

After India’s squad was announced for the remainder of the Test series against Australia, KL Rahul was sacked as the vice-captain. The team selectors did not name any vice-captain and as per a few reports, skipper Rohit Sharma will be choosing the vice-captain.

India lock horns with Australia in the 3rd Test match at Indore. The match will be kick-starting from the 1st of March, 2023.
