    India will play their first match against five-time champions Australia, which will most likely be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, as reported by the Indian Express. The match against arch-rivals Pakistan is scheduled for October 15th, a Sunday.

    Road to ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023: Qualifiers

    The ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 will have the same round-robin format as its 2019 edition, with 10 nations playing a total of 48 matches altogether. After nine games, the top four teams advance to the semifinals. Each team will face the other at least once.

    India, England, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are among the eight teams who have already qualified for the competition automatically. After the first ODI between Ireland and Bangladesh was washed-out, South Africa took the last spot.

    Several countries, including Sri Lanka, West Indies, Netherlands, Ireland, Nepal, Oman, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, and host Zimbabwe, will participate in a qualification competition to earn a spot in the World Cup’s remaining two spots. 

    In June and July, this tournament will be hosted in Zimbabwe, and two previous champions, West Indies and Sri Lanka, will also take part.
