In Wednesday’s Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Guwahati, Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson invited Punjab Kings (PBKS) to open the batting after winning the toss. With 63 runs scored in the powerplay overs, Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh got Punjab off to an explosive start.

Between the two PBKS openers, Prabhsimran has been the more aggressive, while Dhawan is taking in the show from the best seat in the house. During the encounter between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Prabhsimran Singh scored his first fifty in the Indian Premier League.

IPL 2023: Who Is PBKS Opener Prabhsimran Singh? 

At the young age of 8, Prabhsimran Singh, an explosive wicket-keeper batsman, began playing competitive cricket. He amassed a tonne of runs for Punjab at various age divisions and made a compelling argument to be chosen for the India U-19 team.

His struggle for a national call-up eventually came to an end when he was included in the team for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup, demonstrating his tenacity and hard work by carting a brilliant 298 in the Punjab U-23 district competition for Patiala. At the 2019 auction, Prabhsimran was also selected by Punjab Kings for a staggering 4.8 crore.

After being acquired by Punjab Kings for INR 60 Lac at the TATA IPL 2022 auction, Prabhsimran Singh continued to play for them. Prabhsimran, a highly respected hard-hitting wicketkeeper-batsman, has recently put on some strong performances in domestic cricket. He was again retained in IPL 2023 auction.

Talented wicketkeeper-batsman Prabhsimran Singh has been a member of the Punjab Kings team since the IPL 2019 season. In domestic cricket for Punjab, he has continuously produced outstanding performances since making his T20 debut in February 2019.

The amazing century Singh scored against Himachal Pradesh on his Ranji Trophy debut, and even then, he has steadily improved. He is regarded as a promising talent for the future due to his aggressive batting style, which has attracted notice.
