Australia is making every effort to be ready for the next Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against India. The way the visiting hitters handle the Indian spinners in subcontinent conditions could decide the outcome of the Test series.

In order to prepare for the senior spinner, Australia reportedly hired Mahesh Pithiya, a 21-year-old whose actions are similar to Ashwin’s.

The last two Australian visits to India for red-ball cricket have been, to put it mildly, forgettable. In 2013, they were humiliated 4-0, and four years later, they lost 2-1 on their subsequent tour.

The visitors have established a four-day camp in Alur, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, to get ready for the next spin challenge in an effort to turn their luck against spin.

The Australians are taking no chances in their quest to make history and become the first touring team to defeat India in a Test series on home soil since 2012. This includes special bowlers and customized pitches.

Australia performed admirably during their tours of Sri Lanka and Pakistan last year, and similar circumstances may be present in India as well. They will be motivated by the fact that they have only suffered one defeat during the current World Test Championship (WTC) season.

The youngster’s action is uncannily similar to that of the off-spinner from Tamil Nadu Ashwin, with the only apparent difference being a quicker arm motion.

After seeing his video on social media, the coaching crew decided to hire Mahesh Pithiya. The youthful off-spinner made his first-class debut for Baroda in December 2022, and he has had a low-key maiden season at home.
