Rishabh Pant Return: Likely To Discharge, Will He Play In IPL 2023?

Date:

In two weeks, Rishabh Pant is likely to be discharged from the hospital. According to a media report, Pant has been kept under monitoring to determine whether the ligaments are naturally healing. He will begin his rehab after the ligaments have healed. In two months, his status will be reviewed once more.

In four to six weeks, he may begin playing. The medical professionals deemed MCL surgery to be extremely required. According to the report, Rishabh Pant is aware of how difficult the path to recovery will be.

The medial collateral ligament (MCL) underwent significant surgery, and the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) underwent minor surgery, while the remainder of Pant’s torn ligaments is expected to recover on their own.

“All the ligaments were injured. The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is a cause of concern. The doctors said that MCL surgery was absolutely necessary. Now his PCL will be assessed in two weeks. Hopefully, it will not need any further surgery. As of now, he essentially has undergone just one major surgery,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying in the TOI report.

Pant will be discharged from the hospital

In two weeks, Pant will be discharged from the hospital, and the BCCI will continue to keep an eye on his health. The 25-year-old was evacuated to Mumbai lately so that BCCI could take over his rehabilitation after being hospitalised at a hospital in Dehradun following his mishap.

“The ligaments usually heal in four to six weeks. After that, rehab and strengthening will begin. His return to play will be assessed in another two months. Pant realises that it will be a tough road. He would have to undergo counseling sessions too. It could be four to six months before he can start playing,” a BCCI source told.

When Pant, 25, was travelling from Delhi to Rourkee, he had a terrible car accident, but he managed to survive. He had lost control on the NH-58 and hit a divider. The occurrence happened on December 30. On January 4, he was discharged from the Dehradun private hospital and brought to Mumbai for more treatment.
