Having retired from Test cricket in December 2021, de Kock plays only white-ball cricket and is a white-ball specialist. He has incredible T20 numbers and has amassed 2156 T20I runs for South Africa in 77 matches.

Faf was named the skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise in IPL 2022 and powered his side to a 3rd placed finish in the cash-rich tournament.
