The seasoned Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has received good news from Delhi’s Patiala House Court. The Patiala House Court in Delhi has barred Shikhar Dhawan’s ex-wife from making derogatory statements against the India batsman.
The family court issued an order directing Dhawan’s estranged wife, Australian national Aesha Mukerji, not to post anything defamatory about Dhawan on social media or make anything that could harm his reputation.
Dhawan filed a court plea against Mukerji, alleging that his estranged wife had threatened to ruin his career and had even sent defamatory texts to the CEO of the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, Dheeraj Malhotra, with the intent of harming his name.
Dhawan’s son from this marriage is currently in Mukerji’s custody in Australia. Shikhar Dhawan and his wife Ayesha are going through a divorce.
Meanwhile, Dhawan filed a court suit alleging that Ayesha was attempting to smear his reputation. The court has instructed Ayesha not to do so in this case.
Judge Harish Kumar ordered Ayesha
Ayesha has been ordered by Judge Harish Kumar of Delhi’s Patiala House Court not to disseminate defamatory and inaccurate information about Dhawan to anyone or anywhere, including social media, print media, friends, and family.
According to the judge, everyone values being respected. By working hard, he gains a reputation and respect in the community. It is a big loss once it is lost.
Judge Harish Kumar, however, argued that Mukerji cannot be prevented from bringing “genuine” complaints against Dhawan to the appropriate authority.
However, the judge said: “She can certainly be restrained from sharing her grievance against him (Dhawan) with her friends, relatives, and peers of parties as well as from making it public even before approaching the appropriate authority.”
“In these circumstances, she is hereby restrained till further order from circulating any of her grievances against Dhawan or her version of the dispute involved herein or the alleged defamatory and false material against him in social media, print media, or to any other forum or to friends, relatives or colleagues of the parties,” Kumar said.
Dhawan and Ayesha live separately
Ayesha Mukherjee is actually an Australian citizen. In 2012, Dhawan and Ayesha were married after dating for a while.
Ayesha had previously been married twice and had two daughters. After getting married to Dhawan, a boy named Zorawar was born in 2014.
Dhawan and Ayesha made an excellent couple. Before 2020, this family was content with their lives.
The distance between Dhawan and Ayesha grew to the point that divorce was contemplated. Since 2020, they have been living separately.
Dhawan is unlikely to get a spot in the World Cup
Shikhar Dhawan, 37, last played for the Indian side in December of last year. Dhawan was widely regarded as the leading contender for the ODI World Cup, which India will host this year.
However, Ishaan Kishan’s and now Shubman Gill’s double centuries appear to be casting doubt on Dhawan’s claim. Dhawan scored 7, 8, and 3 runs in three One-Day Internationals against Bangladesh in December of last year.
