The Women’s Premier League’s inaugural season will start on March 4 on Saturday. On Saturday, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians (MI) will play the Gujarat Giants in the first match of the year.

At 7:30 PM IST, the game will take place at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. There are 5 teams competing in the WPL’s debut season. There will be 22 games in all. The official anthem for WPL 2023, “Ye to bas shuruat hai,” has been announced.

The Sports 18 TV channel in India will broadcast WPL 2023 matches. On the other hand, the JioCinema app will offer live streaming of the WPL games. The JioCinema app will be free to use for Jio customers.

In the league stage, all five franchises—MI, RCB, DC, GG, and UP Warriorz—will play four home games and four away games. Before the top three teams are chosen, a total of 20 league games will be played, with each team playing the other once. The top-ranked team advances directly to the final match, while the teams placed second and third face off in a playoff with the winner advancing to the championship game.
