Fast-Bowlers Propel Team India To Their 1st Win In ODI Series Against Australia

India finally tasted their first win Australia by a margin of 14 runs. Although, this win will not leave a big impact on the result of the ODI series. But, it will surely give a big momentum to the winning side. Firstly, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya played brilliant knocks followed by a convincing performance of the Indian bowling unit comprising of debutant T Natarajan, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and Ravindra Jadeja.

India opted to bat first and managed a respectable total of 302 runs for a loss of 5 five wickets. The visitors didn’t get off the mark with a good start in the match and lost their in-form opener, Shikhar Dhawan, at the score of 26 runs. Shawn Abbott helped his team in getting the first breakthrough of the match. Later on, Virat Kohli and Shubhman Gill, who was playing his first game, played decently well against Aussie bowlers. They knitted a partnership of 56 runs for the 2nd wicket. Kohli scored 63 runs and Gill managed 33 runs before getting dismissed.

However, the star of Team India’s batting line-up were Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya. At one moment, Men in Blue were nowhere near the score 230. But, the duo gave an applaudable performance in the final ODI of the three-match series.

They stitched a partnership of 150 runs and guided their team to a good total of 302 runs. Jadeja mustered 66 runs and Pandya played a quickfire knock of 92 runs in just 76 balls. From Australia, Ashton Agar emerged as the leading wicket-taker with two wickets.

Coming onto the chase, T Natarajan got off the mark with a dream start to his international career. He dismissed Marnus Labuschagne in his third over of the game and gave a big blow to Australia’s batting line-up. Steve Smith, who scored consecutive tons in the past couple of games, failed to click a good knock before getting dismissed off Shardul Thakur.

Meanwhile, Aaron Finch was smashing the bowlers all across the park. He looked comfortable and settled on the wicket while batting in the 3rd ODI. He also managed a small partnership with Moises Henriques as well. Finch amassed 75 runs before heading towards the pavilion.

In the end, all the hopes came down on the shoulder of Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey. They took the game quite far away from Team India on the back of their brilliant batting. But, there were still lots of things left to be unfolded in the match.

Firstly Carey got run out in the crucial overs of the game followed by a dismissal of dangerous Maxwell. The right-handed batsman was clean bowled by Jasprit Bumrah on a peach of a yorker. And, Team India was once again back in the game. In the final two overs, Australia required 21 runs and it looked impossible for the tailenders to chase that score against the strong bowling unit of the Indian cricket team. From Indian bowlers, Shardul Thakur took three wickets and impressed everyone. Meanwhile, debutant T Natarajan and Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets each.

The cricket fans were quite happy with the balanced performance of Team India and shared greetings on social media.
