Team India is not having the best of their tour to Australia until now. They are still due to taste their very first win against the Aussies. And, the host’s batsmen are in scintillating batting form that has kept them from winning their first game. The hosts suffered a big blow as David Warner was ruled out from the ODI and T20I series after he sustained an injury. And, KL Rahul hilariously said it will be good for them if the southpaw gets injured for a long time.

David Warner has played a key role as an opener in Australia’s success against Team India in the ongoing series. The southpaw scored back-to-back half-centuries in his destructive style. In the series opener, he managed 69 runs followed by an 83 run knock in the next one. Both the games were won by the host with sheer dominance. And, after Warner got injured, CA was quick to announce D’Arcy Short as his replacement.

In the post-match conference, Rahul hilariously said that it will be great for Team India if Warner stays injured for a long time. But, he also added that this is not particularly what he wants to happen with any player.

“It will be nice if he gets injured for a long time. I would not wish that for any player but he is their main batsman, it will be good for our team,” Rahul was quoted as saying in the post-match press conference.

Australia has rested Pat Cummins as well for the ODI and T20I series. Justin Langer, the Aussie head coach asserted that they are very important players from the perspective of the Test series. And, he wants them to be on their toes when Border-Gavaskar Trophy arrives.

“Pat and Davie are critical to our plans for the Test Series. Davie will work through his injury rehab and in Pat’s case it is important all of our players are managed well to keep them mentally and physically fit throughout what is a challenging summer,” Langer was quoted as saying.

“The priority for both is being fully prepared for one of the biggest and most important home Test Series we have played in recent years, especially with World Test Championship points up for grabs,” he added.
