Even they are thinking to release their icon player Pat Cummins, who was the costliest player bought during IPL 2020 auction.

Dinesh Karthik and Kuldeep Yadav are the players among the KKR’s squad that might be released into the auction pool. As we know BCCI has extended their decision to add a couple of teams to IPL 2022, And, teams will have a limited purse to buy their favorite players.

A source revealed that the Kolkata Knight Riders think-tank is expected to go with Tom Banton and Nikhil Naik in the upcoming edition.

KKR bought Dinesh Karthik at a whopping fee of INR 7.4 Crore and Kuldeep Yadav at a price of 5.8 Crore. Releasing these two players will add 13.20 Crores to the KKR’s purse. Meanwhile, Knight Riders might also release Pat Cummins, who was the costliest buy of the previous season. In IPL 2020, the Aussie pacer failed to prove his worth with the ball and couldn’t give justified performances as far as his pay-check is concerned.

“KKR already has Tom Banton, talented Nikhil Naik as wicket-keeping options in the squad. The team may continue with them and will let go of other options,” said one of the sources close to team management of KKR as quoted by Inside Sport. “Kuldeep Yadav also likely to lose his place,” the source went on to add.

On the other hand, there is a lot of confusion surrounding the injuries and contracts of Andre Russell as well as Sunil Narine. It concludes that KKR have lots of voids in their side and cricket fans can expect some shocking decision going ahead in IPL 2021.
