Tim Southee, who played alongside Umesh Yadav at Royal Challengers Bangalore and still plays together for KKR, lavishes praise on the Indian pacer. He said that it is a great experience sharing a dressing room with such a talented pacer in the Indian Premier League.

Umesh Yadav was about to get unsold before KKR took the chance and bought him at a price of INR 2 Crores. KKR’s move to pick an Indian pacer has so far gone in their favor. The 34-year-old bowler has taken 10 wickets in 5 games playing for Knight Riders. He took a double-wicket maiden against Punjab Kings and ended up taking a four-wicket haul. Also, he holds the accolade for registering the best bowling figures this season.

Kiwi Pacer feels Umesh Yadav will perform really well for Team India

Umesh Yadav will perform really well for Team India

In a recent interaction, the Kiwi pacer said that the way Umesh Yadav has been managed by Kolkata Knight Riders is brilliant. As per him, if he continues with the same bowling form in this edition then he will surely play for Team India again.

“The way he’s been managed suits Umesh’s style of bowling. If he keeps performing the way he’s been doing I can’t see why he would not do well for India in T20 cricket,” he said.

”He’s had a strong start to the tournament. To open the bowling with some of the great bowlers, and someone who you don’t usually get to deal with, that’s the beauty of this tournament. You are able to open the bowling with a very fine Indian fast bowler,’ Southee said.’

Southee mentioned that Knight Riders have an experienced bowling duo of Pat Cummins and Umesh Yadav along with some exceptional young Indian bowlers. Also, they have two strong spinners with the likes of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy. The vetran Kiwi bowler says that it is always interesting to be part of such a bunch of players.

“It’s really exciting. You look at the experience and the pace that the three have and then we throw in the exciting talents of the young Indian bowlers who we have in our side. On top of that, you have got two of the great mystery spinners of the game, so I think as a bowling attack that covers all the bases,” he said.

”It’s great to be a part of such a great lineup. You got the experience of Sunil Narine, Pat, and Umesh and then throw in some exciting young Indian talents. It’s great to be around.”
