Former LSG mentor, Gautam Gambhir is set to bring his leadership back to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as he takes on the role of mentor for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. 

The former Indian opener recently bid farewell to his position as mentor of Lucknow Super Giants and is now poised to rejoin the franchise where he left an indelible mark.

Gambhir’s return to KKR is marked by a sense of nostalgia and anticipation, having led the team to IPL glory in 2012 and 2014. 

His earlier stint with KKR from 2011 to 2017 was nothing short of historic, with two IPL titles, five playoff qualifications, and a runner-up finish in the Champions League T20 in 2014.

The seasoned cricketer expressed his excitement about the reunion, highlighting the emotional connection he shares with the Kolkata-based franchise. 

The role of mentor will see Gambhir working closely with head coach Chandrakant Pandit, aiming to contribute his wealth of experience and strategic insights to the team’s success.
