Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the series opener. They managed a respectable total of 262 runs for a loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. C Karunaratne played a decent knock of 43 runs in the lower order. Also, skipper Dasun Shanaka also played an important knock of 39 runs with his willow.
