The Indian Premier League and the World Test Championships finals, two of the largest events on the calendar in 2023, are eagerly anticipated by cricket fans across India. But now that the kickoff dates for both major events have been revealed, it appears as if the wait will soon be over.
The 16th season of the IPL will either start on March 31 or April 1 of 2023, according to a report from Cricbuzz. In fact, the report also indicates that Ahmedabad is the most likely venue for the competition to begin because the Gujarat Titans are the IPL’s current champions after winning the championship in 2022.

IPL 2023: Number of matches
The grouping of the teams will determine how many matches there will be in the IPL 2023. The 10 teams were split into two groups last year based on the number of trophies they had won.
Additionally, as opposed to past seasons, the cash-rich league’s forthcoming season is probably going to be played at ten different locations. In Mumbai and Pune, four stadiums hosted the IPL’s most recent season, while Kolkata and Ahmedabad hosted the playoffs.

IPL 2023 auction date
On December 23, the IPL auction will be held in Kochi, India. 991 players have signed up overall as of this writing for the IPL auction. But there are now just 87 open slots. It must be noted that a total of 85 players has been released by their respective team, making them available to the 10 teams as well.
World Test Championship final dates
According to the same report, the World Test Championship final would probably take place from June 7 to 11. The International Cricket Council has not yet made the date official, but it is anticipated to take place on the aforementioned dates, with a backup day set aside in case of inclement weather.
This indicates that the World Test Championships final could begin on the same day as the IPL final in 2023, as the BCCI has reportedly finalized two dates for the final: May 28 or June 4. Both of these days are rather near the beginning of the championship.
