Cricket Australia has announced the Test squad for the New Zealand tour. Meanwhile, they have also named the squad for five-T20Is. Matthew Wade has been axed from the Test squad for giving a poor performance in the recently concluded Test series against India. And, Alex Carey has replaced the former for the upcoming series vs South Africa.
Wade’s consistent poor run with the bat ruled him out of the Test squad. The former players and cricket pundits criticized the southpaw for throwing his wicket away. The left-handed batsman played irresponsible strokes and got out against Indian bowlers.

Although, Wade has been sidelined from the Test squad. But, selectors have shown their confidence over the southpaw and he has been picked for the five-match T20I series against New Zealand. There were speculations that Tim Paine will be sacked from the captaincy of the Test team. But, that has not been the case.
