Age Fraud controversy: The Chennai Super Kings bowler was accused of changing his age in 2022. As per multiple reports, Rajvardhan Hangargekar reportedly changed his date of birth from 10/01/2001 to 10/11/2002.
The incident is said to have taken place in the 7th grade of Tema Public School, Osmanabad. Documents have reportedly been found that unauthorized corrections have been made by the school’s headmaster.
If the report is correct, the fast bowler would be 21 years of age as of March 2022 instead of 19 years. This would have also made him ineligible for the U-19 World Cup that he won with the Indian U19 team.
The report has been filed by Om Prakash Bakoria, the Commissioner of Sports & Youth Services, Maharashtra State. It has to be seen if the BCCI would begin an investigation in this manner.
