After India successfully defended their Border Gavaskar Trophy in the recently-concluded Test series, the action now shifts to the ODI series between India and Australia.

As it’s the ICC ODI World Cup year, a lot of focus will be given on the ODI series.

The result of the Test series between India and Australia was 2-1 in favour of the hosts. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja bagged the player of the series in a joint fashion.

Both of them contributed handsomely with the bowl and Jadeja batted elegantly in the series.

Virat Kohli broke his century jinx in the longest format of the game as he scored a fabulous century in Tests for the first time since 2019.

The former skipper of India scored 186 runs in Ahmedabad and was only 14 runs shy of a double century.

In other news, Australia will be without the services of their regular skipper, Pat Cummins.

The speedster had headed back home after the completion of the 2nd Test to attend to his ailing mother.

He will not be returning and it will be Steve Smith who will be donning the role of the captain’s hat in this series.

In this article, we take a look at 3 players who can play well in the upcoming India vs Australia ODI series:

    1. Virat Kohli (India)

An undisputed monarch in ODI cricket, Virat Kohli will be one of the top players to watch out for in the upcoming series.

The 34-year-old cricketer is back to ruling the roost in international cricket and also loves playing against Australia.

Kohli already has 2 centuries in the ODI format in this and both of them came against Sri Lanka.

He would be looking to extend his dominant spree on to the ODI format as well.

Notably, he averages 57.7 in ODI and this speaks volumes of his extraordinary abilities.

    2. Glenn Maxwell (Australia)

After suffering a freak leg injury at a birthday party post the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Glenn Maxwell was out of action all this while.

He will be staging a comeback in this ODI series and would be desperate to get into the groove.

Having played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a considerable period of time now, Maxwell knows the Indian conditions inside out.

    3. Ravindra Jadeja (India)

Another comeback man, Ravindra Jadeja would be a key member in the Indian cricket team.

He made a fairy-tale comeback in the Tests between India and Australia and also bagged the player of the series award.

The talismanic all-rounder of India weaved magic with the ball and bagged 22 wickets.

Jadeja finished as India’s second-highest wicket-taker, only behind fellow compatriot, Ravichandran Ashwin.
