IPL 2023: 3 Reasons Why Jos Buttler Might Have A Good IPL Season

Date:

One of the most explosive and destructive batters of our generation, Jos Buttler will most certainly be a force to reckon with in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

The hard-hitting English batter has always batted with domination, spunk and authority.

In the last IPL, Buttler was the leading run-getter and set the entire stage on fire.

His batting exploits was one of the main reasons why Rajasthan Royals reached the finals of IPL 2022.

Even though they lost to Gujarat Titans in the finals, it was a memorable outing for the Men in Pink.

As the IPL returns to its usual home and away format, all the players would be eager to play in front of their home ground and enjoy the crowd support from the team’s fans.

In this article, we take a look at 3 reasons why Jos Buttler might have a good IPL season in IPL 2023:

1. Jos Buttler won the Orange Cap in IPL 2022

Jos Buttler’s confidence levels will be at peak as he heads into IPL 2023.

This is primarily because he won the Orange Cap award in IPL 2022, which is given to the player with most number of runs in an IPL season.

The England limited overs captain mustered 863 runs and also smashed 4 centuries.

He would be looking to continue from where he left off in the IPL.

2. The pitch at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium will suit his batting

The pitches are Sawai Man Singh Stadium have enough bounce on them and that would enable someone like Jos Buttler to get underneath the ball and play the aerial shots.

Outfield is also quite fast and that means Buttler could get the boundaries quite easily.

However that being said, the ground in Jaipur is huge and Jos Buttler will have to exercise his dominant muscles in order to clear the outfield.

3. He has been in good form in international cricket

England firstly won the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 under the astute leadership of the wicket-keeper batter.

This would inspire confidence into him and he could help skipper Sanju Samson with some key decisions and moments on the field.

Secondly, Jos Buttler has been in fine form in the subcontinent conditions.

In the recently-concluded T20I series versus Bangladesh, Jos Buttler finished as the 2nd highest run getter and the highest run getter of England.

The 32-year-old cricketer scored 111 runs in 3 matches.
