2. Racist events:
This is indeed one dark secret. Through the IPL’s all the cheerleaders have been fair-skinned, fair-skinned, or white-skinned. They are from Europe and America, and one may feel that they can do the routine far better than their Indian counterparts.
Wrong! The sponsors did not want anyone with a dark complexion or skin! It was indeed racism, as the color of their skin differentiated the cheerleaders. Moreover, Indian ladies who had fair complexion were considered as people belonging to the upper caste.
On top of all this, the sponsors did not want Indian girls to dance in the open with skinny outfits! Many cheerleaders have expressed their distaste for such racism as it spoilt their livelihood.
