The star player recently looked happy again joining Roya Challengers Bangalore for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. During a chat, Harshal Patel was quizzed on who he thinks going to lead RCB in the upcoming season. RCB has a few contenders like Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf du Plessis to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022.

The pacer has himself picked his favorite to lead RCB in the 2022 edition. As per him, he didn’t have much discussion with the management. But, he feels Faf du Plessis will be the right player to lead the side.

“I don’t know, I haven’t had any chat with anybody at the RCB management, but Faf is, in my opinion. He has led South Africa very well and is a potential candidate, but I certainly can’t say,” Patel said.

Meanwhile, he also revealed what was the strategy of RCB management and why they didn’t retain him before IPL 2022 mega-auction.

“They basically told me that if we retain you, we’ll have to pay you 6 crore and 9 crores will be deducted out of our purse because you will be the fourth player,” Patel said.
