Watch: IPL 2023 Auction Star, Cameron Green Claims His Maiden Five-Wicket Haul In A Boxing Day Test

Date:

Cameron Green, an all-rounder for Australia, has had a great week. The all-rounder, who had just become the second-most expensive player in the IPL, helped Australia bowl out South Africa for just 189 on Boxing Day by taking his first five-wicket haul.

Because of Cameron Green’s outstanding bowling, South Africa was unable to surpass 200 runs in their opening inning. However, when Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen formed a significant partnership for the sixth wicket, South Africa briefly put Australia on the back foot. Green, however, not only split this partnership, but he also claimed three additional wickets.

With the ball, the 23-year-old right-handed all-rounder for Australia did wonders, capturing 5 wickets for 27 runs in 10.5 overs. For the first time in his Test career, he took five wickets. The fantastic thing is that Green picked up these five wickets in that game, which was played soon after he was showered with cash during the IPL auction. The franchise in Mumbai will undoubtedly experience a wave of satisfaction as a result, and Melbourne must have been delighted. When there was no more money left in the auction, Mumbai Indians were the ones who bought Green.
