Debut: Justin made his MMA debut at ROF 41: Bragging Rights. The U.S.-based fighter took on Kevin Croom by KO on August 20, 2011.
World Series of Fighting: By the time Justin joined WSOF, he had a 7-0 record in MMA. He made his debut against Gesias Cavalcante in March 2013. Justin won the bout by KO in the first round itself.
On January 18, 2014, Justin Gaethje won the WSOF Lightweight Championship against Richard Patishnock. He would go on to defend it until his time in the company.
