Ajinkya Rahane, the Indian Test vice-captain opined that talented Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant plays in a certain fashion. And, the team-management never tries to change it. Kohli’s deputy was happy that the youngster managed to pull off an amazing knock against Australia. Meanwhile, he also expressed that the cricket fans got to watch Pant’s potential as well in the recently concluded Test series.

Rishabh Pant’s poor form was the reason behind his exclusion from the team for the Adelaide Test. But, Wriddhiman Saha also failed to perform well in the series opener due to which team-management handed Delhiite a golden opportunity. And, that decision went well in favor of Team India.

The southpaw played applaudable knocks in the 2nd innings of the 3rd and 4th Test. In Melbourne, he played a resilient knock that helped India in playing a tough draw against Australia. He scored 91 runs that saved visitors from facing their second defeat of the Border-Gavaskar series. Later on, he played an unbeaten knock of 89 runs that helped Team India in registering their 2nd win of the series. Indian cricket team managed a victory by a margin of three wickets at The Gabba.

Also, a victory by 3 wickets in Brisbane helped Rahane & Co. in clinching Test series win against Australia by 2-1. Ajinkya Rahane in an interview said that Rishabh Pant is a player, who doesn’t want to think much while batting. The Indian Test captain said that everyone wants Pant to play his natural game going ahead.

“For a player like Rishabh, you don’t want him to think too much, or tell him too much… He knows his game really well, he plays in a certain fashion, and you don’t want to disturb that. Because of his innings, we were in a situation to win the Test match in Sydney… So for a player like him, you just want to leave him alone, back him, and just ask him to play his normal game,” said Rahane.
