1) The Rock retiring “Stone Cold” Steve Austin
Steve Austin was coming close to his career being over as his spinal stenosis was being more serious as time was flying by. WWE was looking for a guy to be the person who could possibly be the last opponent of Steve Austin. The guy turned out to be Steve’s favorite in-ring dance partner, The Rock.
The day at WrestleMania Steve felt problems with his back. He was immediately sent to a local hospital in Seattle. The problem turne out to be a serious Spinal Stenosis. He was told to immediately retire but Austin told the office that this match will be his final match and it turned that it was a phenomenal retirement match.
The Rock was 0-2 against Steve Austin at WrestleMania as Steve beat The Rock at WrestleMania 15 and WrestleMania X-SEVEN. The Rock wanted to beat him just to settle the score and do the one thing that no one ever did it and that was to beat Steve Austin clean at WrestleMania. Under the skies of Saffco Field in Seattle, WA we saw a barnburner between two of the biggest draws of WWE history and two important pillars of the Attitude Era.
The final image was The Rock being on top of Austin and after that Austin walked off WrestleMania XIX with a standing ovation from over 50,000 people and being acknowledged by people as the greatest to ever do it. This is the Rock’s biggest moment of his career as being the guy who retired his favorite in-ring dance partner, who helped each other for their growth in their careers and getting his dues that he was owed years ago in such a fashion that people still remember it is crazy and greatest in itself.
